Chasing Pink began as Yiğit Yüksel's photo-book — over a decade of journeys into the Arctic night across Norway, Iceland and Sweden, following the aurora borealis from Lofoten and Senja to Abisko and the south coast of Iceland. Most nights the sky glowed green; on the rare, charged ones it turned pink. This is that book, rebuilt for the web — and still growing.
Every page of the original edition is here, alongside tools the print could never hold. An atlas maps 90 watch-points worldwide — northern lights and southern — and a live forecast reads the Kp index and solar wind straight from NOAA, draws the auroral oval over both poles, and scores tonight's sky for 70 of them. A night planner weighs the dark hours, the cloud, the moon and the Kp you'd need, for any spot and the week ahead; in the field, a red-light hunt mode rides along.
