Every photo record in the book carries a date and a time; the GFZ archive carries a Kp value for every three hours since 1932. Here they meet for the first time: each row is the real Kp of the three-hour slot the frame was made in — and the day's eight values.
What a row is: a record of a frame the book made at that place and time. The gallery pairs caption records to images by location, so a row means "a frame made here, then", not "this exact displayed photograph". Rows marked EXIF were read from the file itself.
Kp: GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences definitive record (CC BY 4.0), 3-hour values; each frame's local clock is converted to UTC through the country's time zone (DST included) and that slot is read. Records: the book's caption records (InDesign) and the book spots' EXIF. Kp is a global index — it says what the planet's geomagnetic state was in that slot, not what the sky did over that exact spot.
